Burke Youth Organized Philanthropists

Operating under the auspices of the Community Foundation of Burke County, Burke Youth Organized Philanthropists (“BYOP”) was created in 2016. Sara Black Moses, CFBC Board Member and a native of Burke County, leads the organization and serves as volunteer Director of BYOP. The group consists of students representing high schools in Burke County as well as students from recognized homeschools. The students are focused on developing philanthropy skills as well as gaining a better understanding of the needs in Burke County. They will conduct an annual grant cycle and evaluate grant applications from nonprofits serving children (ages 0-18) and their families.

Contact Nancy W. Taylor by email or by calling (828) 437-7105 if you would like further information about becoming a member of BYOP or if you are interested in becoming a donor.
