Cycle Deadline – 5pm, Oct. 16
The purpose of the Recession Releif Fund (RRF) grants is to provide Emergency relief and operating funds to support human service organizations addressing basic needs including food, shelter/housing, heating and utility assistance and medical/mental health issues exacerbated by the recession.
Grant Deadline – Must be received by 5pm, October 16th
Eligibility Criteria
In order to be eligible for consideration, your organization must:
- Have a 501(c)(3) designation.
- Provide services in Burke County.
- Provide services including food, shelter/housing, heating and utility assistance and medical/mental health issues.
- Have ability to respond to a demonstrated increase in demand for services.
Additional Considerations
- Organizations may submit one application per cycle.
- Innovative ways of serving the increased demand and/or well-tested programs that can be scaled up or expanded are encouraged.
- Religious organizations may apply for funding if the project is open to all without regard to a particular religious belief.
Grant process –Applications should be submitted to the Community Foundation of Burke County and grant decisions will be announced within 5 weeks of the posted deadline.
Post Grant Requirements
Please be advised that a grant will be subject to the following requirements:
- Interim grant progress reports (written and/or verbal) may be required before additional grants are considered for an organization. We will try to limit the demands upon your staff, so these reporting activities may be conducted via phone or email.
- Final progress reports within 30 days after all grant funds have been expended.
- All grant awards may be publicized by the media as well as posted on the Foundation’s website and in the Foundation’s annual report.
Instructions for Submitting a Grant Application
- All necessary materials must be received by 5 p.m. on the grant deadline date at the Community Foundation office
- Please send only one copy of the requested information.
- Do not use binders, staples or folders
- No faxed or email applications will be accepted.
Application Checklist: (Please include one copy of each item in the order listed)
- CFBC Cover Sheet (pdf format) – (Signed by the Board Chair/President)
- RRF Grant Application Form including Narrative Questions – (Limit to 2 page maximum, 12 point font minimum and 1 inch margins, please)
- Board List - Attach a list of the Board of Directors, showing their primary professional and community affiliations, position on the board and contact information.
- Organization Operating Budget - Attach your organization’s operating budget showing line item income and expenses for current year (two page maximum).
- Year End Financials –Submit your organization’s year-end financial review as presented to the Board of Directors.
- Most recent audit or 990 if available.
